About the Role
As a member of our Production team, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the efficient planning and execution of all manufacturing and packaging operations, ensuring the highest standards of quality and uninterrupted service to clients, including, but not limited to: performing General Labour duties and Batching as needed.
A day in the life of the Production Supervisor might include…
- Overseeing and coordinating all areas of production, including filling lines, offline activities (such as box and bottle labelling), and batching operations in the absence of the batching supervisor.
- Leading, training, and directing all production staff—including full-time and temporary associates—in all aspects of production and safety.
- Driving productivity and efficiency of each production line and offline activity to consistently meet or exceed established targets, utilizing MS Office tools to log production line performance, analyzing data, and preparing bi-weekly reports for senior management.
- Managing and adjusting the production schedule to optimize workflow.
- Planning labour resources to ensure lean production operations, particularly with temporary associates.
- Verifying the availability and proper staging of all raw materials and packaging components required for production.
- Performing wastewater treatment duties and maintaining Deionized (DI) and Ultrafiltration (UF) water systems.
- Providing strong, visible leadership on the production floor—creating a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment that reinforces organizational values.
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing production associates through ongoing feedback, skill-building, and structured training programs to enhance team capability and engagement.
- Fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement by clearly communicating expectations and recognizing strong performance.
- Promoting open communication, cross-training, and teamwork to strengthen workforce flexibility and morale.
- Resolving production and quality-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Enforcing GMP, regulatory, and safety requirements—including ensuring all containers are correctly capped, labelled, and documented in accordance with QA and regulatory procedures.
- Performing required line checks, maintaining complete and accurate documentation, and ensuring quality standards are upheld consistently across all production activities.
- Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of all equipment, processes, and procedures on the production floor.
- Inspecting filling equipment and containers to ensure proper function and safety standards.
- Troubleshooting and performing minor adjustments and repairs to equipment as necessary.
- Setting up, changing over, and operating all filling and packaging equipment, utilizing both semi-automatic and manual methods to fill various containers as specified.
- Conducting preventive maintenance on production and warehouse equipment.
- Enforcing safety rules, identifying and correcting hazards, providing training and instruction, and investigating incidents.
- Upholding excellent housekeeping standards across all production areas, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and audit readiness at all times.
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as required.
Does this sound like you?
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Process Engineering and/or Chemical Engineering preferred.
- 2 years of experience in a similar role, within a Chemical Manufacturing environment.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, with expertise in MS Excel.
- Experience with Microsoft Great Plains and MRP systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
- Familiarity with LEED-friendly practices is considered an asset.
- Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Competence in operating material handling equipment (e.g., reach truck, walkie rider, forklift), but not required.
- Mathematical aptitude for quantifying target rates and other manufacturing KPIs.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in verbal and written form.
What’s in it for you?
- The expected compensation for this position ranges between $27.00 To $33.00 Hourly.
- This position is required to work onsite.
- Paid time off between December 25th and January 1st each year, for all permanent full-time staff.
- 4-day schedule all year (Monday to Thursday 7:00am to 5:30pm, less 30 minutes unpaid lunch).
