A Review of Available Disinfectant Efficacy Data and Health Risks of the Major Disinfectant Classes

This paper combines information from EPA registration data on disinfectant efficacy, as well as research evidence on the toxicity of various disinfectants to provide recommendations for disinfecting child care sites. The authors unequivocally recommend peroxide-based disinfectants over quaternary ammonium products and sodium hypochlorite (bleach).
